History is Written by Hand.

To transform a miracle of nature into a real Sichou silk comforter, many experienced hands, and even more steps are necessary. Everything starts with the mulberry silkworm spinning a cocoon. The cocoon is soaked in hot water and then shaped on a bamboo arch getting the form of a little hat. After the drying a first layer of silk fleece is sensitively drawn from the hat by hand. Again and again. These ultra-thin layers are superimposed until the desired filling weight of a real Sichou silk comforter is obtained. Normally there are about 5 layers, which together weight about 800 grams. This small piece of art is then sewed pointwise together with the cover of cotton or silk at the edge to prevent slipping.

These silk comforters are not quilted, so there are no so-called thermal bridges, which could minimize the well-being under a Sichou silk blanket.
